Cooling - Wall and Window Air Conditioning

th_window

If you have a small area to cool in the summer - say, one room a room air conditioner may be a more economical choice than a central air conditioning unit. It will cost less initially and it will cost less to cool a small area.

Most room air conditioners sit in a window where they can exhaust warm air to the outside. Window units have there down falls.

Drafty
Noisy
Poor weatherization
Moisture issues
Not enough cooling for the area your trying to condition
Uncontrolled condensate outside which can cause issues with water staining and dry rot
Unsafe due to breaking and entering
Cause wear and tear and future issues with the window operations
Inconvenience of removing the window unit and reinstalling
Electrical outlet and circuit may not be sized for adding a window unit
Installation can be a difficult and unsafe especially installing widow units in a window that’s window panes slide vertical verses horizontal.
